Pay for ChatGPT from Russia

ChatGPT bills in US dollars. Orca issues a USD Visa card that you top up in roubles through SBP.

What you can pay for

ChatGPT has paid personal plans, Plus and Pro, plus team plans for workspaces. At the time of writing (October 2026) Plus costs about $20 a month and Pro about $200 a month; plans and prices change, so check OpenAI's pricing page before you pay. Subscriptions are charged in US dollars, and some countries add tax on top. API access for developers is billed separately on platform.openai.com with prepaid credits and is not included in Plus. OpenAI does not officially offer its service to users in Russia, so the service itself may restrict sign-up or payment. Orca is responsible for the card and the payment, not for access to ChatGPT.

Step by step

  1. Open a card in the bot

Start @OrcaCardsBot in Telegram or open orcacards.app/app in a browser. Opening the card costs 1,990 ₽ once; there is no monthly fee.

  2. Pass the checks

Confirm your email, then your passport and a selfie through Didit, a verification service, and a Russian +7 mobile number. The card cannot be issued without them.

  3. Top up with a margin

A single minimum top-up (1,500 ₽, at least $15 on the card) is not enough for a ~$20 Plus plan. Add a margin for tax and rate moves. The rouble-per-dollar rate is shown in the app before you pay.

  4. Enter the card in ChatGPT

On chatgpt.com click your profile, choose "Upgrade plan" and pick a plan. Enter the card number, expiry and CVC from the Orca app, and your real details.

  5. Confirm 3‑D Secure

If a confirmation is requested, the code appears in the Orca app and is also sent by the bot. Keep the payment window open while you type it.

  6. If the payment is declined

Check the card balance and retry once after a few minutes; rapid repeated attempts can trip anti-fraud checks. If it still fails, message @OrcaCardsSupportBot with the time and amount.

Worth knowing

The card does not work everywhere. We are responsible for the card, not for access to third-party services.

  • The card does not work everywhere. OpenAI decides whether to accept it and may decline because of the account country, IP address or billing address; Orca cannot change that.
  • The subscription renews automatically every month. If the card is short on the renewal date, the plan pauses until a payment succeeds.
  • Tax may be added to the plan price, so the final charge can be higher than the price on the pricing page.
  • Buying Plus inside the iPhone or Android app goes through the app store, not OpenAI, so your Apple or Google account rules apply.

How much to top up

Leave a margin for conversion and renewals. The first payment is from 3,490 ₽: 1,990 ₽ opening and 1,500 ₽ to the card.

Common questions

Can I pay for the OpenAI API with the same card?
Yes, it is a separate bill: on platform.openai.com go to Settings → Billing, add the card and buy credits. OpenAI sets and may change the minimum credit purchase.
Why was I charged more than $20?
Depending on the country, OpenAI may add tax. The exact amount is shown in the checkout before you confirm.
How many roubles do I need for the first month?
Your first Orca payment is at least 3,490 ₽: 1,990 ₽ to open the card plus a 1,500 ₽ minimum top-up. For Plus you will usually need more than the minimum; the calculator on the site shows how many dollars land on the card.
Can I get unused dollars back in roubles?
No. Money on an Orca card can only be spent; there is no withdrawal back to roubles. Top up only what you plan to spend.
Where do refunds go?
Refunds return to the card in US dollars and can be used for your next payments.
