Pay for Netflix from Russia

Netflix takes bank cards for its subscription. Orca offers a USD Visa card you top up in roubles via SBP.

What you can pay for

Netflix sells plans that usually include a basic plan with ads, Standard and Premium, which differ in video quality and the number of screens at once. Plans and prices depend on the account country: at the time of writing (October 2026) Standard in dollar regions costs roughly $15–20 a month, and your account page shows the exact price. The price may be in the account country's local currency, in which case Visa converts it from the card's USD balance. Netflix does not officially operate in Russia, so subscribing on an account set to Russia usually is not possible; that is a limit of the service, not the card.

Step by step

  1. Issue an Orca card

In @OrcaCardsBot or at orcacards.app/app, open a card for 1,990 ₽. It is a one-time payment with no monthly fee afterwards.

  2. Pass identity checks

Email, passport and selfie through Didit, and a +7 mobile number. It usually takes a few minutes.

  3. Top up for a couple of months

Netflix charges on the same date every month. Topping up for two or three charges at once saves you from watching the date. The minimum is 1,500 ₽.

  4. Add the card to your account

For a new subscription, choose a plan on netflix.com and enter the card at the payment step. For an existing account: profile icon → Account → Membership → Manage payment method.

  5. Confirm the payment

If Netflix requests 3‑D Secure, the code appears in the Orca app and is sent by the bot. Netflix may also place a small test authorisation that is then released.

  6. If it is declined

Check the balance first. If there is enough and Netflix says the payment method was not accepted, the service probably does not accept the card for your account country. Ask @OrcaCardsSupportBot for details.

Worth knowing

The card does not work everywhere. We are responsible for the card, not for access to third-party services.

  • The card does not work everywhere. Netflix compares the account country with the card country and may refuse a card issued elsewhere.
  • The catalogue and price follow the account country, not the card. A card with a Singapore BIN does not change your Netflix region.
  • If the price is not in dollars, the USD amount charged will move slightly with Visa's conversion rate.
  • The subscription renews automatically; if the balance is short, Netflix pauses access and retries the charge.

How much to top up

Leave a margin for conversion and renewals. The first payment is from 3,490 ₽: 1,990 ₽ opening and 1,500 ₽ to the card.

Common questions

Where do I change the card on Netflix?
In a web browser: profile icon → Account → Membership → Manage payment method. TV apps usually do not have this section.
Why was $1 charged and returned?
That can be a test authorisation: the service checks the card is valid and then releases the hold. The amount returns to the card balance.
How much should I top up for a month?
Look up your plan price in your Netflix account and add a small margin for conversion. The minimum top-up is 1,500 ₽, which puts at least $15 on the card.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of the paid period, and there are no further charges. The remaining balance can be spent on other services.
Can I withdraw what is left on the card?
No. Money on the card can only be spent; there is no withdrawal back to roubles.
